Yesterday, the National President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr joined other prominent guests to celebrate a milestone anniversary – one year in office of the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area Council in Delta State, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye. The celebration was marked with the inauguration of several landmark projects executed by the Chairman’s administration.

 

Some of the commissioned projects include the connection of Bomadi to the national grid, renovation of the Chairman’s Lodge, construction of residential buildings for the Vice Chairman and High Court Judge, the Deaconess Tobore Ultra-Modern Multipurpose Event Centre, and concrete pavement with drainage systems. Additionally, the Bomadi-Ohoro Road was rehabilitated, showcasing the Chairman’s commitment to infrastructure development.

 

During the event, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri commended Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye for his remarkable achievements within a short span of one year. He praised the Chairman for delivering dividends of democracy to the grassroots and his people. The IYC President described Hon. Andaye as a “square peg in a square hole” and urged public office holders in Ijaw Nation to emulate his leadership style, focusing on developing their people and region.

 

The IYC delegation led by Sir Lokpobiri included notable leaders such as Comr. Freedom Atigbi PhD, Deputy President; Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, National Spokesman; Hon. Owoupele Jeremiah, Former National Spokesman; and Comr. Nicholas T. Igarama, Chairman Western Zone, among others.

 

The event which was well attended by array of political leaders in Delta State, highlighted the Chairman’s dedication to improving the lives of Bomadi residents and served as a testament to his effective leadership.
