HISTORIC VISIT IN YENAGOA: HIGH CHIEF TOMPLO VISITS IYC SECRETARIAT PROJECT SITE
Yenagoa, the “Jerusalem” of the Ijaw Nation, witnessed a historic moment earlier today as the revered General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Niger Delta, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), paid an unscheduled visit to the construction site of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide International Secretariat Complex — a landmark project sponsored by Tantita Security Services Ltd.
Although the IYC Worldwide President, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, is currently on official UN duties abroad, his team, led by High Chief Ari Fekorogha (National Director of Mobilization), Mr. Peres Ineifei (Zonal Chairman), and Engr. Richard Ekpebu (Site Lead Engineer), warmly received the delegation. They provided detailed updates on the construction’s progress and key challenges, particularly the urgent need for sand filling to continue site development.
Speaking on behalf of Tompolo, High Chief Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, reaffirmed Tompolo’s unwavering commitment to the timely completion of the Secretariat project and promised swift intervention to accelerate sand supply and construction work.
In his message from abroad, President Lokpobiri expressed heartfelt gratitude to High Chief Tompolo for his continuous support, generosity, and outstanding leadership in fostering unity, development, and youth empowerment across the Ijaw Nation.
This visit represents a major milestone in the IYC’s journey of institutional growth and lasting legacy.
The Ijaw Nation stands proud and prays for long life, divine strength, and continued wisdom for our icon, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo).
