A high-powered delegation from the Association of Women Against Gender Based Violence and the DO Foundation led by Dr. Mrs. Goddy-Hary Dise Ogbise Esq, paid a courtesy visit to the National President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, at his office in Ijaw House yesterday.

 

The meeting focused on potential collaborations between the IYC and the organization in the fight against Gender-Based Violence. During the visit, Sir Jonathan commended the group’s efforts, for their selfless contributions to combating Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria.

 

The IYC President emphasized the need for a national action against Gender-Based Violence, expressing delight that the group is at the forefront of this fight.

 

In recognition of Sir Jonathan’s outstanding contributions to leadership, social justice, and community service, the Association of Women Against Gender Based Violence and the DO Foundation presented him with a Meritorious Award of Honour, hailing him as a torchbearer of the Ijaw Youth.

 

Accepting the award, Sir Jonathan assured the group of the IYC’s support for their activities and engagements, reaffirming the council’s commitment to partnering with them in the fight against Gender-Based Violence.
