Queen Tamunosoye Tours Ultra-Modern IYC Secretariat Complex

As part of activities marking her Homecoming and Thank You Visit to Bayelsa State, Miss World Nigeria 2026, Queen Tamunosoye Karibi-George, paid a visit to the ultra-modern Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Secretariat Complex currently under construction.

To provide insight into the significance and scope of the landmark project, the President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, personally conducted the beauty queen on a guided tour of the facility.

Speaking during the tour, Lokpobiri described the Secretariat Complex as a new dawn for the IYC and a major investment in the future of Ijaw youths. He disclosed that the project comprises a three-storey administrative block, a 2,500-capacity conference hall, a youth training centre, warehouse facilities, a car park, and several other structures designed to enhance youth empowerment and strengthen institutional coordination within the organisation.

He further noted that the facility would complement and support the objectives of Queen Tamunosoye’s social advocacy initiative, Beyond Label, a project dedicated to promoting education, awareness, inclusion, and the dismantling of societal stereotypes surrounding children living with disabilities and special needs.

In her remarks, Queen Tamunosoye Karibi-George applauded the vision behind the Secretariat Complex, particularly the youth training centre, which she said aligns closely with the objectives of her advocacy campaign aimed at promoting youth development, skills acquisition, and social inclusion.

The visit underscored the importance of strategic institutional partnerships in advancing youth empowerment and fostering sustainable development across the Ijaw nation, while highlighting the shared commitment of stakeholders to building a brighter future for the next generation.
