Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide Announces Change of Venue for 2026 National Manifesto/Debate Event
Yenagoa, Bayelsa State – June 18, 2026
The National Electoral Committee 2026 (NECOM) of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has announced a change of venue for the forthcoming Manifesto and Debate event scheduled for candidates contesting various positions in the National Executive Council of the organization.
According to an official statement issued by NECOM, the decision affects all candidates, supporters, guest speakers, special guests, elders, stakeholders, and members of the Ijaw Nation expected to participate in the event.
The committee stated that the venue has been relocated from the previously announced location to:
Obuama (Harrystown), Degema Local Government Area, Rivers State (Eastern Zone, Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide).
While the venue has changed, the date and time of the event remain unchanged:
Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. prompt
NECOM expressed regret for any inconvenience the change may cause and appealed for the understanding and cooperation of all participants and stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Dr. Charles G. Ikimi, Chairman of NECOM 2026, reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and successful electoral process. The committee also wished all attendees safe travels to and from Obuama (Harrystown).
The Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide remains dedicated to promoting democratic engagement, youth participation, and credible leadership selection within the organization.
