The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), under the leadership of Sir. Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, held a National Constitutional Convention at Odi Town, Central Zone, on Friday, the 20th of December 2024. The Convention presented the opportunity for Ijaw Youths to review the Constitution of IYC, make reviews and adopt it as a working document for the operation of council affairs moving forward.

The Convention was attended by a different array of Ijaw Youths and leaders of Ijaw Nation from all Zones and Chapters, who gathered together at Odi Town to review and adopt the Constitution. Notable leaders who attended the convention included Hon. Barr. Tare Porri, Member BYHA, Hon. Livin Mitin, Member BYHA, Sir. Alfred Kemepado, Commissioner for Youth Bayelsa, Rt. Hon. Tonye Isenah, Engr. Udengs Eradiri Former President of Council, Elder Oweifie Jonjon, Former President Of Council, Rt. Hon. Gabriel, Speaker IYC Mobile Parliament, Comr. Igali Robert Jp, Director-General Center For Youth Development, Comr. Perekosufa Ineife, Chairman Central Zone, Comr. Igarama Nicholas, Chairman Western Zone.and among other leaders.
